20th century - a Physico-Psychic Zeitgeist
Zeitgeist, n The spirit of the time; the taste and outlook characteristic of a period or generation
Is a computer mostly physical, or mostly psychic?
A modern scientist aspirant might beautifully explain how the electronics of the computer work, and how the different algorithms process the pixels upon our screens. But what would it mean to say that part of the computer is psychic?
If you think about it, there is a lot of intellect behind the building of a computer. Different components have to be mounted in the correct order for anything at all to work. Similarly, for anything intelligible to appear on our screens, a lot of intellectual programming has to be made.
Furthermore, whenever we use the computer, most of the time we process the physical movements through our intellect. In other words, when we write for example, we do write words that come from our psyche. When we play, create, analyze, and so on, we do a lot of intellectual work that result in our fingers typing and clicking. Surely for the experience of the human being the computer is mostly psychic.
Looking at it from the perspective of the computer, we might still ask, is it mostly psychic or physical? It is build with intellect, it is dependent on intellect for it to be called a computer, both its internal (processing) and extarnal (human being) usage are intellectual.
Now, what is the physical description of the computer? When we explain how a computer works, it is not the physical description. The physical description is its shape, smell, taste, look and sound. The physical components of the computer, how they interrelate, is not a purely physical description. It is psycho-physical. Why? Because we can not see any relation by our ocular vision. The relations we see are realized by intellect. To relate to the computer with any understanding whatsoever we have to use our intellect. We are describing the computer's physicality with our intellect.
Looking at science in general we mostly do the same thing. We find different physical settings, and analyze them intellectually, making up a description of a physico-psychic reality. As we go deeper into modern physics however, the description becomes subtler; more psychic. Our physical perception is not able to perceive the components of the so-called physical world today. Electrons, photons and the liking are metaphors representing the extension of our perception.
How do we know something exists, something that we can't see, hear, taste, smell or feel with our sense of touch? We create some instrument that can measure it. The instrument may be able to measure everyday perceptions, and metaphorize them with numbers (440Hz for example) , and then continue to measure similar patterns that extend the limits of our own perception. Now the physical reality is no longer perceived, but conceived by our reasoning.
Deeper into quantum mechanics we find that to actually describe the electron it depends on the observer. Something inside us decides how the electron will behave. If you think about it, quantum mechanics are theories based on theories concluding that something non-physical defines reality. That is our finding that our physical description of reality is becoming psychic.
ps. physico-psychic vs. psycho-physical: the former is moving towards the subtle, movement from physical to psychic, and the latter is movement from psycic to physical. ds.

Usage of Consciousness
You are consciousness.
We can utilize everything around us. Take for example the computer. When starting your work, if you happen to click certain things in a certain order, everything will be a lot smoother -- a lot less confusing.
The path of spirituality can be metaphorized by resonance.
Resonance: Acoustics Intensification and prolongation of sound, especially of a musical tone, produced by sympathetic vibration.
In acoustics, when you make a sound in a certain environment, and the sound happens to resonate in that environment: the sound gets intensified because of the vibrational circumstances. Similarly, when you walk the path of spirituality, or in other words, when you deliberately tune in your consciousness with the present moment and struggle for realizing the truth of all, your very being will resonate with everything around you.

Teh Absolute
Beyond existence, solipsism, objectivity and reality, which all may be cancelled out and called illusory, one thing remains as the essence of anything. Setting aside the intricacies of definitions of words, and the complexity of reasoning, let us focus on the very essence. The very essence is the one thing which for sure cannot be denied.
Did you already figure out what this is? It is consciousness. I know that I exist. I might not know what I am, what knowledge is, what existence is, but I do know that I am conscious. Conscious of the fact that there is a witness: an I feeling.
Whether this life is an illusion, dream, or a physical hard fact, or something that can be described as all of those, these descriptions are not primary to existence. They depend on definitions of what the words mean, or of what some intellectualization has concluded. They require some kind of processing before being used as a means to find truth. The only unprocessed event in creation is consciousness, is it not?
Whatever I might do, lie or speak truth, measure or make up, reason or imagine, there is still the witnessing counterpart. There is no way to do anything, or for anything to happen, without somebody or something witnessing it.
Objections can be made, as one entity might be conscious of a different part of the world (or the universe) than another, reasoning that no one of these entities are necessary for the events to take place. That means that you might not be a necessity for this universe to exist, but what do you know of in this universe that you did not witness? What is actually there which you have not witnessed? Many things might be there, as you know from common knowledge, but the verification is done by witnessing, and certain things one might think are true may actually be false - to be found out by witnessing.
Let this witness inside you be the seeker of truth. Know this witness inside you, and base your truth, your life, and your purpose on this. Why? Because this is the only one truth we can really know, making all other kinds of philosophies and knowledge blunt.

Objective vs. Subjective Quantum Mechanics
Objectivity:
Subjectivity:
-
Subjective Time
Generally when doing scientific experiments, we rely on objects for concluding facts. If we want to see how some specific food affects our body, we might measure the amount of some specific component in the blood. This type of measurement is objective, as the components we look for are external objects.
Bertilsson considers that analysis can be done with a subjective approach towards reality, just as it normally is done objectively. The subjective approach can be that Bertilsson is observing the event going on. Whether Bertilsson observes how the food affects him in his own mind or body, or if he makes the objective experiment mentioned above, the observation is essential for the experiment to have any results.
In fact it is impossible to do any experiment or analysis without an observer. In theory it is possible, but practically, there is no way to ever, even theoretically, conceive any such a thing. In other words, any objective experiment is observed by someone, and that someone is a subject. There is no possible theory that any experiment can be done without someone observing it. Therefore any experiment is subjective.
The subjective approach has been painfully neglected by millions, maybe billions of people. However, we can see that it actually covers completely everything that has to do with existence. Every moment of your life has been observed by You, and every element of any moment too (of your experienced life), whether subjective or objective, has also been observed by You.
Questioning the objective approach of time - that is: that time is the measurement of movement of physical objects - we may also see it subjectively: time (spacetime) is the ongoing present that You have been observing as long as you can remember.
This ongoing present transcends existence.
Not only have You been observing this ongoing present always, but also all the things that always happen in this very present, only happen in this very present. That is: whatever happens in your life happens in this very moment. Other things, such as logical conclusions and physical changes are only retrospectively or hypothetically created in the mind. (The act of creating this is happening presently in the mind, but the analysis or conclusion is about something not currently happening in the present).
This ongoing presence is also there in dreams. It goes further than objectivity, only dealing with physical reality, still there as making the description of reality bigger than normally. In other words, the spacetime of dreams, emotions, and knowledge, for example, are also part of the subjective description of the universe. The total collection of all beings' subjective reality therefore is bigger than the objective description of the universe.
Consciousness Dependent Objectivity
In quantum physics, there is the common experiment that introduces consciousness into objectivity. Scientifically, an electron is measured like either a wave or particle. The result depends on how you measure it. If you measure it like a wave the result is that the electron appears to be a wave. If you measure the electron like a particle the result is that it appears to be a particle.
The mysterious conclusion is that the appearence of the electron depends on the observer. That result is subjective. The experiment is objectively proving that the object is dependent on the subject.
SocioStatic Education
Have you ever thought about what people are actually learning in school? The idea is interesting, how we more and more are learning to discard our own subjectivity, only learning objectivity as a habitual approach to we-don't-know-why.
Taking children first. They are very much doing what they are actually doing. If they are drawing they are drawing, if they are singing they are singing. What does this mean? They can actually humbly just draw anything they like and enjoy it. There is no limits of why they need to do it, or any structure as in how they have to do it. They can be one with their action, without intellectually convincing themselves what they are doing.
And what is the teacher doing? Going in the natural flow, teaching what seems relevant, enjoying the experience, being in the mood where the situation is harmonic, adjusting with the intricacies of the moment? Or only following the expectations of the principal, doing everything systematically as have always been done, while in the mind being completely dry, having no interest whatsoever?
The answer is actually that it can be any. It can be both. But who is most valid? Objective analysis couldn't distinguish the two. Only a subjective approach could feel the preference for the former.
The children growing older, they learn to accept more and more to follow the structures, whether anyone is enjoying it or not, whether anyone truly in their heart would like to experience it. Whether one is benefitting or not. This is what we are expected to do, and what we are forced to do. Eventually some of us become like that, that we teach our children how to do things, only because in our minds we can't accept anything else, but we don't have the energy to understand why we do the specific things we do. We can't see deep reasons, or discuss it calmly, but only go on following it, because that is what we know, and this staticity takes all our energy for truly figure out what we really want, should and need, in deep aspects.
But we are still souls. Our souls long to come out and luminate this life. We can fight the staticity, using any means, and we will succeed. Let the souls come out. Let us shine like the sun. Let us do it together. Victory to the Supreme Subjectivity, the Great One Soul deepest within! Let us become one with our hearts. Let us do in our lives things we will never regret. Let us fill up ourselves with love for what we do, in such a way that we are fully conscious in our actions, and fully agree that what we do is for the best only! And let us affirm the universe to do the same! Come join the angels in heaven! They are waiting for You!
| 1. | the state or quality of being objective: He tries to maintain objectivity in his judgment. |
